Maasys understands that every
software project has its own specialties and different types
of projects require different business models. Our business
models have been formulated keeping ‘flexibility of
operation’ in mind. Maasys operates in two modes as
shown below:

In the first mode, Maasys undertakes
software projects directly from overseas clients. In the second
mode, Maasys undertakes projects from its overseas software
partners. The overseas software partners take up projects
from clients and outsource either full or part of the project
from Maasys. In both modes of operation, the following business
models are followed.
Fixed Price Model
In this model, Maasys offers to execute a software
project at a fixed price. This model is generally followed
where the project specifications are clearly defined and the
development life cycle can closely follow the water-fall model.
Ideally, the client has a well defined SRS document and has
defined other parameters like technology platforms etc. Maasys
can undertake such projects with a fixed price quote and deliver
them in due time with best quality.
Time and Material Model
In this model, Maasys offers to
execute a software project with a variable cost depending
on the efforts spent and other resources consumed, such as
purchase of any 3rd party software or project specific hardware
(other than computer systems). This type of model is most
suitable for projects which are not very clearly defined,
and are likely to follow the ‘Evolutionary’ or
‘Spiral’ development model. The client is charged
with the actual amount of effort spent for development and/or
enhancements as directed. There are no hidden charges, additional
costs and provides the client complete flexibility to get
the project developed end-to-end as per his/her budget/funding
provisions. Before any such project begins, Maasys provides
the client with effort estimates, material/resource estimates
and other vital figures to help the client decide on budget/funding
etc.
Turnkey Model
This model is usually suitable for medium to large
sized projects where the requirements and initial software
plans and designs are already provided by the client. Maasys
offers to execute such projects on turnkey basis. The project
can be divided into several steps and each step can have either
a ‘fixed price’ or a ‘time and material’
price.
Hourly, Weekly or Monthly
Charges Model
This business model is most suitable for maintenance
and support projects. Maasys offers 24 x 7 technical support
for projects that are fully operational. Services may include
server maintenance, database maintenance, backup/restore and
crash recovery, bug fixing and minor changes. Such projects
are usually charged on hourly basis depending on actual hours
spent. Maasys also offers fixed weekly or monthly charges
with commitment of a minimum number of hours per week or month
respectively. Any additional hours spent are charged extra.
The weekly and monthly charges models are usually cheaper
in comparison to hourly charges model.
Dedicated Center Model
This business model is most suitable for overseas
software partners, however can be adopted by direct overseas
clients too. Maasys provides a dedicated software development
team having expertise in the required technology platform
which works completely under control of the client or software
partner. Maasys provides all other infrastructure like workspace,
computer furniture, computer systems, consumables, uninterrupted
power supply and high-speed internet connectivity. Any project
specific additional hardware or 3rd party software is borne
by the client or software partner. This offers an excellent
opportunity to have your own offshore development center under
your control. All software professionals in the dedicated
team are directly accessible by you using email, instant messenger
and phone, as and when required.
Hybrid Model
Sometimes, some projects do not fit into any particular model
due to client’s business needs or special nature of
such projects. Under such circumstances, Maasys offers a combination
of these models making a ‘hybrid model’ that is
suitable for the client, offers maximum flexibility for the
development of the project and provides cost benefits. For
example, a project can be executed in a ‘Fixed Price’
model and then enhancements can be taken up in ‘Time
and Material’ model.
